Homemade Mask Recipe
Considering COVID-19, most of us are staying at home. Today, I would like to share a couple of homemade DIY mask recipes. Most of these ingredients are readily available in the kitchen.
Remember, you can also give your skin some TLC even when you are at home. We have prepared different homemade mask recipes for different skin types. Even when the spa salons are closed, you can still create amazing face masks at home. Best of all, it is 100% fresh and natural.
Hydrating mask for dry skin

Avocado, Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera
Avocado is extremely moisturising and packed with great vitamins and antioxidants; coconut oil can penetrate the deep layers of skin for best hydration.
Aloe Vera is soothing to the skin and has healing properties. Fresh aloe vera is also great for sunburned skin.
Recipe
½ Avocado
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
1 teaspoon of aloe vera
Firstly, cut up chunks of avocado and aloe vera, and blend it well until it reaches a smoothie-like consistency. Add in the coconut oil and mix it well.
Apply the mix on your face and let it sit on your face for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Rinse off the mask and your face will immediately feel hydrated with a glow.
Calming mask for sensitive skin
Yoghurt has prebiotics and can reduce redness on sensitive skin. Try this calming homemade mask for sensitive skin with these few organic ingredients.
Recipe
1 tablespoon Greek yoghurt
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon coffee powder
Mix both ingredients in a bowl to form a paste
Apply the cold mixture to your face and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes
Rinse off the mixture and you will have non-irritable skin.
Perk-Me-Up mask for tired skin

If you are looking for a no-fuss weekly self-care mask for normal skin, try mixing rolled oats with milk. Oatmeal facial masks are easy to make and requires very little ingredients.
Recipe
1/3 cup oatmeal
1/2 whisked egg white
2 tablespoons yoghurt
2 tablespoons honey
Soak oatmeal in 1/2 cup of warm water for a couple of minutes. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and apply the paste on your face.
Leave it on for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Rinse off and you will notice that your face is refreshed and hydrated.
Soothing masks for acne prone skin
Acnes are painful and difficult to treat. Most women are prone to acne breakout usually before the menstrual cycle. The last thing you want to do is to prick the acne as this leads to infection. Use this homemade mask formula below to calm acne prone skin and unclog blocked pores.
Honey is a natural anti-bacterial source, and this makes it extremely ideal for treating acne prone skin. Founder of Visha Skincare says, “Turmeric decreases microbial growth, sebum production and inflammation all which can cause acne,” says Purvisha Patel. “Topical turmeric also helps with discoloration or hyperpigmentation if used over a long time.”
Milk and egg white are super nourishing. With all these natural goodies mixed, lay back and enjoy this yummy mask.
Recipe
1 tablespoon of honey
½ egg white
¼ bowl of milk
Dash of turmeric
Whisk half of the egg white till you have a reach foamy consistency.
Next, mix all the ingredients into a bowl and apply the mixture on your face for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Rinse off the mask you will notice that your complexion has gone a shade fairer and your face is less painful.
Brightening mask for skin whitening
There are so many natural ingredients that can assist skin brightening. Citrus fruits like oranges, lemon and grapefruit are high in Vitamin C and helps to lighten dark spots to make skin brighter and clearer.
Other ingredients like cucumber, papaya, turmeric, green tea and rice water are also fantastic natural ingredients for making a brightening mask.
Recipe
1 spoonful of turmeric
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Mix both ingredients in a bowl to form a paste
Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes
Rinse off the mixture and you will have smooth, glowing skin.
